The Atlas Cross Sport has two trims, SE and SEL, but they come with multiple upgrade packages. The Technology package upgrades the base SE trim with extra digital equipment. The R-line series adds a sportier look. The top-level SEL Premium R-line has the biggest wheels, all the tech, and a Fender® Premium Audio System. It also comes with front or all-wheel drive and a choice between two engines: a 2-liter 4-cylinder engine that pushes 235 horsepower with 258 pound-feet of torque or a 3.6-liter V6 kicking 276 horsepower with 266 pound-feet of torque.
There are four available drive modes for all-wheel drive: snow, on-road, off-road and off-road custom. The snow mode prevents too much power from going to the wheels too quickly. The on-road mode has several settings to make easy driving even easier. The off-road mode has many features, including Hill Descent Control which helps keep a safe, even speed on steep declines. The off-road custom mode can be tweaked by the driver to perfectly suit their home terrain.
With the rear seats folded down, the Atlas Cross Sport boasts 77.8 cubic feet of cargo space. That’s plenty of room for an extensive camping adventure or a home improvement load-up at the hardware store.
