Comparing the 2024 Volkswagen Atlas vs. the Kia Telluride

It’s tough to beat a three-row SUV when you need space and versatility. However, with so many options available, it can be hard to choose a favorite. At North Penn Volkswagen, we’re stacking up the 2024 Volkswagen Atlas to the Kia Telluride to showcase its highlights.
Power and Efficiency
When it comes to power, the SUVs are pretty evenly matched. The Volkswagen Atlas generates up to 269 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque, while the Kia Telluride delivers up to 291 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque. However, the Volkswagen SUV is more fuel-efficient and has a notable 502-mile highway driving range, as opposed to the 489-mile range in the Kia SUV.
Premium Cabins
Both three-row SUVs feature thoughtful and comfortable cabins. However, the Volkswagen Atlas takes it up a notch in the premium details. It comes standard with heated and ventilated front seats, Climatronic® three-zone automatic climate control, and wireless smartphone integration. While higher Kia Telluride trims include heated and ventilated seats, the other features aren’t even available.
Generous Cargo Space
The cargo capacity in the midsize SUVs is almost identical. However, once you begin customizing the cabin, that’s where the Volkswagen SUV really shines. With the second row folded flat, it can carry up to 55.5 cubic feet of cargo, while the Kia Telluride only carries 46. If you fold both rows flat, you can carry an ample 96.6 cubic feet of cargo in the Volkswagen Atlas, while there’s only room for 87 cubic feet of cargo in the Kia SUV.
