Volkswagen Collabs with Bandai Namco on In-Vehicle PAC-MAN Experience

Our new Volkswagen cars are benefiting from an exciting new partnership. Volkswagen is collaborating with Bandai Namco to bring an immersive PAC-MAN experience to select VW models. North Penn Volkswagen is sharing all the details.

What Is an In-Vehicle Gaming Experience?

You can now utilize your vehicle’s infotainment display as a gaming console. Volkswagen has partnered with N-Dream, Bandai Namco Entertainment Inc., and AirConsole® to bring the PAC-MAN Championship Edition to Volkswagen vehicles. To play, you’ll simply need to connect your smartphone, which acts as the game controller.

What Is AirConsole®?

AirConsole® is the world’s first gaming platform that has been designed specifically for cars. It’s an optional in-car app that can turn infotainment displays into a gaming station. Before you can use it, you need to download the app from your in-car shop and create a Volkswagen ID user account. You’ll also need an active VW Connect Plus contract and internet on your smartphone.

Volkswagen is the first manufacturer to combine the game with the vehicle’s background lighting, which provides an even more immersive gaming experience. The cabin’s interior lighting responds to the game’s content and player input. The game also incorporates iconic Volkswagen vehicles, such as the Volkswagen Beetle and Volkswagen Bus.

PAC-MAN Details

PAC-MAN, the classic game from the 1980s, has been revamped for a truly unique experience in your VW vehicle. You navigate through a labyrinth of dots, eating them as you go and avoiding the ghosts. You get bonus points for touching the Volkswagen details, such as Volkswagen Beetle silhouettes or Volkswagen wheel rims.
