VW Powertrain Warranty: What’s Covered and What’s Not

Warranty coverage can make a huge difference when it comes to caring for your vehicle. The VW powertrain warranty can protect you if you face issues with your vehicle’s powertrain components. North Penn Volkswagen is outlining what’s covered and what’s not with your vehicle’s warranty.
What’s Included in the VW Powertrain Warranty?
Every new Volkswagen vehicle comes with a New Vehicle Limited Warranty. This is coverage provided by the manufacturer. Your coverage lasts for up to four years or 50,000 miles, whichever occurs first. The New Vehicle Limited Warranty includes bumper-to-bumper coverage. This includes a variety of components, including your powertrain, battery, and more. It covers mechanical issues and faulty parts that are a result of defects in your vehicle’s original parts or workmanship.
What’s Not Covered?
While your warranty coverage covers many of your vehicle’s components, there are exclusions. For starters, your coverage doesn’t cover your vehicle’s routine maintenance such as your oil changes and tire rotations. It also doesn’t protect you against damage caused by neglect, damage from an accident or natural disaster, or normal wear and tear.
Additional Coverage
As an added perk of purchasing a new Volkswagen model, your vehicle’s scheduled maintenance is included with your purchase for up to two years or 20,000 miles. VW Roadside Assistance is also available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. This includes battery jump starts, fuel delivery, lockout assistance, and flat tire changes. We can even arrange for a tow to the nearest authorized dealer, if necessary.
