Which Volkswagen Models Are Hybrids?

Current Volkswagen Hybrid Models

There currently aren’t any Volkswagen hybrid or plug-in hybrid models available in the North American market. Volkswagen is composed mainly of vehicles powered by an internal combustion engine.

However, there are also vehicles powered by an all-electric powertrain. The Volkswagen electric vehicles (EV) include the Volkswagen ID.4 and the Volkswagen ID.Buzz.

Volkswagen Tiguan

While there isn’t currently a Volkswagen hybrid model available, there are two in the works. Volkswagen announced that it plans for two of its models to be released as hybrid models in the next two years.

The first of these is likely to be the Volkswagen Tiguan. The compact SUV is known for its style and practicality, and the efficiency of a hybrid powertrain could add to its appeal.

Volkswagen Atlas

The other model that is expected to be released as a hybrid is the Volkswagen Atlas. However, this release likely won’t occur until at least 2027.

The Volkswagen Atlas is a spacious three-row SUV. While it has many family-friendly features, such as its versatile cabin and wealth of safety features, a hybrid powertrain would also certainly go a long way for busy families.
