Which Volkswagen SUV Is Right for Me?

We think there’s a match for everyone in the Volkswagen SUV lineup. It includes a variety of shapes, sizes, and powertrains, which can make choosing your favorite a bit tough. The team at North Penn Volkswagen has put together this guide to help you determine which one is right for you.
Volkswagen Atlas
The Volkswagen Atlas is the largest SUV in the lineup. The three-row SUV features seating for seven and up to 96.6 cubic feet of cargo space, with the seats folded down. It’s not to be confused with the Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport, which is a smaller, five-passenger option that touts similarly exciting power.
Volkswagen Taos
On the other end of the spectrum, the Volkswagen Taos is the smallest in the lineup. The compact SUV is still surprisingly spacious and can hold up to 65.9 cubic feet of cargo with the rear seats folded down. New for 2025, it includes a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, which provides up to 177 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque.
Volkswagen Tiguan
While it’s classified as a compact SUV, the Volkswagen Tiguan includes a versatile and roomy cabin. It’s even available with a third row, giving you seating for seven. It uses a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine to deliver up to 184 horsepower and 221 lb-ft of torque.
Volkswagen ID.4
The all-electric Volkswagen ID.4 is a great option if you’re trying to reduce your carbon footprint. It boasts an EPA-estimated 291-mile electric range, so your charging stops are few and far between. You’ll experience an exciting 4.9-second zero to 60 mph time in the EV, so it’s still fun to drive, too.
